OpenStack

Exivity integrates with OpenStack to provide detailed metering and cost management for private cloud infrastructure.

OpenStack environments generate resource consumption data across compute, storage, networking, and other cloud services. Exivity can ingest infrastructure usage data and transform it into meaningful cost and billing information, providing organizations with visibility into how private cloud resources are being consumed.

Consumption data can be enriched with customer, department, project, service, contract, or other business information. Organizations can then apply their own rates, pricing structures, and business rules to calculate the cost or charge associated with the resources being consumed.

For enterprises, this enables internal cost allocation, showback, and chargeback across OpenStack environments. Managed and cloud service providers can use the same capabilities to create usage-based services and translate OpenStack consumption into customer-facing billing.

OpenStack data can also be consolidated with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, VMware, Kubernetes, and other technology sources in Exivity. This provides a unified view of costs across private, public, hybrid, and multi-cloud infrastructure, without limiting FinOps processes to hyperscaler environments. Exivity's extraction framework is designed to retrieve usage information from public and private cloud APIs and combine it with additional contextual data.
