About Exivity

Where we come from

Exivity was founded in 2017 and is based in the Netherlands, where Exivity B.V. is registered. The company started with the metering and billing problem: service providers, telcos, public bodies and research institutes that had to turn raw consumption from many systems into a bill that would survive an audit. That engine is Exivity Core, and it still runs in production at organizations where a wrong cost number is noticed the same week.

Hypermeter came out of the same discipline applied to a different question. Once cost could be metered and rated reliably, the harder problem for most organisations was not producing the number but defending it: who caused this cost, was it worth it, and will the answer still hold when someone checks the working. Hypermeter is that question made into a product.

What we build

Hypermeter is a SaaS platform for cross-source cost allocation, FinOps analysis and unit economics. It brings cost and usage data together, applies the allocation rules you define, and shows the result by team, product or customer, with every figure traceable to its sources. Hypermeter is built by Exivity.

Exivity Core is a metering, mediation, rating and billing engine. It collects usage from cloud and private infrastructure — virtualisation, storage, network, licences and AI tokens included — mediates it into billable records, applies your contract terms, and prepares invoice-ready charges and reports for your billing workflow. It also supports internal showback and chargeback, and runs self-hosted, including air-gapped, or in the cloud.

Two products, one company. Hypermeter allocates and explains cost; Exivity Core meters, rates and bills it. Use either on its own, or connect them where your data policy allows. You need Exivity Core when you bill external customers or must run in your own environment.

The boundary between them in one line: Exivity Core turns consumption into a charge you can invoice. Hypermeter turns cost into a number you can defend.

How we work

A few positions shape both products.

• We read, we do not act. The software connects with credentials you issue and never resizes, schedules, stops or reconfigures anything you run.

• A number you cannot explain is not shown. Every allocation, rate and forecast states its method and reruns identically for anyone who checks. Batch runs, not streaming, so a run that cannot complete correctly is blocked rather than left half-finished.

• Flat pricing, no share of savings. A percentage of what you save is unpredictable in a budget and starts an argument about who saved it. Our pricing is flat and plannable; how pricing works.

• Naming is part of the product. Exivity is the company. Exivity Core and Hypermeter are the products. We use the names the same way on every page so that people, and the systems that read pages for them, get the same answer.

Exivity is a member of the FinOps Foundation. The FinOps Certified Platform certification is held for Exivity Core (listed by the Foundation as Exivity OnPremise), and both products read FOCUS-formatted billing data.
