Customer story
Tele2 is a Swedish telecom company that was established in 1993 with the aim of providing an alternative to the state telecom monopoly. In the year 2000, the company made history by building the world’s first 3G network. Since 2016, Tele2 has invested heavily in B2B operations and expanded its offerings through the acquisition of TDC’s Swedish operations, which included fiber delivery, data center, and managed hosting. Today, this is known as Hybrid Cloud.
In 2019, Tele2 achieved an important milestone by becoming completely climate-neutral in its operations.
Tele2 is currently the second-largest telecom operator in Sweden and offers a range of services to its customers. For business-to-consumer (B2C) customers, Tele2 provides services such as streaming services, linear TV, and mobile connectivity. For business-to-business (B2B) clients, Tele2 delivers internet and IP VPN capacity, 4G, 5G, and fiber services. They also offer network services, IoT services, security solutions, private mobile networks, unified communication services, and managed cloud services (MCS). Additionally, Tele2 provides hardware and software consultancy in a wide range of technologies, including telephony solutions, SD-WAN, LAN, WLAN, and private networks.

Challenges and solutions

Prior to implementing Exivity, the MCS department relied on manual processes to handle cloud-based consumption, which led to scattered information channels for tracking time, billing, and customer deliveries.

However, by consolidating all invoicing and price lists into a single platform, Exivity has enabled them to streamline their operations and simplify our management processes. This centralized approach has reduced the risk of duplication and errors, which ultimately saves time and resources.

Now, with Exivity, they have a more efficient and organized system for managing their cloud-based consumption and associated billing. This enables them to better serve their customers and enhance their overall business operations.

Exivity retrieves data from various systems, backup systems, storage capacity and infrastructure from providers such as Nutanix, Veeam, Azure consumption (Azure NCE/CSP), and Genesis Cloud for unified communication services. Consolidating all invoicing and price lists in a single location can significantly enhance transparency within an organization. This approach allows everyone to view the invoiced items and prices, which reduces the risk of internal misunderstandings and disputes, as well as misunderstandings with the customers. Moreover, the finance department benefits from the reduction in manual labor, particularly for Azure.

Consolidating the data sources has a significant positive impact on the service managers too. They easily monitor general rates (list prices) and customer-specific rates. Previously, they had to manually review each data source, but now Exivity extracts all the data from the sources mentioned earlier and provides granular reports into consumption on a per customer basis.
